Mountain Yoga Retreat
22 - 24 September 2023
Embodying Expansion & Embracing Change
As we go through and experience life’s challenges, we can sometimes feel stuck physically and mentally. This retreat will promote connection to yourself, to the land/nature and to each other, reminding each of us that we are more than our stuck-ness and that life is constantly in an ebb and flow.
Through movement and breath-based practices we can explore a felt sense of expansion, opening us up to new possibilities and establishing personal agency. By creating connection with our present moment experience we can be an active participant in life’s unfolding, moment to moment.
Throughout this retreat we will explore yoga forms and breathing practices to help stimulate the flow of prana (life force); along with meditation, reflection, and journaling to help illuminate our way of moving through change.

Yoga Therapy
Wednesday 10am - 6pm
Wednesday 10am - 6pm
Appointments include......
Yoga Therapy on Demand (30 mins - online only)
Initial Yoga Therapy (90 mins)
Follow Up Yoga Therapy (60 mins)
Yoga Therapy is a modality that empowers and supports you to manage your own health. It’s designed to assist you, the whole individual, as opposed to focusing solely on the injury, condition or illness that you might be presenting with.
Throughout our sessions together, we will work in a professional and therapeutic way to find the most effective method of treatment for you. This treatment might incorporate a number of principles or practices from the yogic traditions that may range from pranayama (breath work), asana (posture), meditation, diet suggestions, lifestyle counselling (within a yogic context) and self-development guidance. These are applied in a very therapeutic way with the aim of bringing balance to the body and mind.
The Yoga Therapy Package
1. Initial treatment – In this session we will discuss the reason for Yoga Therapy, discuss your medical history as well as current lifestyle and diet etc.
The second part of this session involves a physical assessment. We will look at the symptoms that are being presented for the yoga therapy session and observe any of the areas of the body that may be contributing to these symptoms. We will observe the range of motion in the presenting areas in order to decipher a suitable treatment plan.
Some techniques may be given to work with on the day.
It can be really challenging and confronting going through the initial session so if it's okay with you, I'll call you at a time that suite you to check in and see how you are. A full yoga therapy program will be sent to you after each session, summarizing what we covered, with a clear outline of each practice, why we're including it in your program and how to practice it safely.
2. Yoga Therapy Program – Our second session is generally 7 - 10 days after the first appointment. In this second session we will go through together a yoga treatment plan just for you! This session is experimental as we work together to find modifications and variations that feel good for your body. We can create recordings (photograph, film or audio) of any of the practices that we explore, being physical postures, breathing techniques or meditations. This is a great way of re-creating the practice from home so that you can practice in confidence. This
3. Review the Session - Our third session is generally one month after the second. This gives time to explore the practices and have a chance to integrate them into your life. In this session we will review the program to see if any changes have occurred for you. We are then able to make modifications and variations to the practice so that it feels more suitable for your body.
Yoga Therapy on Demand
This is the perfect option if you are time poor and want a few tips and practices without the overload of resourses sent through. This is a 30 minute session online where we focus on an area of your choice (e.g. anxiety). I'll spend the first part of the session asking questions about how this shows up for you and then together we'll explore some practices to help support you along with
strategies on how to integrate these into your daily living. No program is
sent through so clients usually make notes as we go.

Corporate Workshop - Stress Management & Self Regulation
These workshops are perfect for the corporate environment and can be facilitated online or in person.
Corporate Workshop - Stress Management & Self Regulation is a combination of educational and practical resources. I'll take some time to go through what is happening in your body when stress arises and what regular stress looks like compared to ongoing stress. We'll discuss how to recognise it, why it's so important to notice and then what we can do about it. We then look at practical ways (using some yoga and mindfulness techniques) to help manage stress levels and to promote self-regulation.
You can expect an educational presentation, some exploration of yoga and mindfulness techniques, along with reflection and group discussion.
This can be tailored to your specific needs.
"As part of RU OK? Day, I engaged Erika to talk to the team about managing stress and understanding the body's physical response to stress. Due to COVID and an increasing workload, many of the team members moods were affected, stress levels increasing and a sense of despondency. Many of the team members were new to yoga and meditation concepts and Erika was open to tailoring her presentation to suit the audience. Erika and I discussed the themes and team attitudes via phone and then refined her presentation to suit. Erika's attitude was amazing, she was open, flexible and really collaborative. On the day, the workshop went really well. So many of the team opened up and chipped in with their experiences. Team members reported feeling noticeably relaxed afterwards and it contributed positively to building rapport and deepening relationships within the team. A highly beneficial team building exercise."
